According to worldphotographyday.com, “World Photography Day is an annual, worldwide celebration of the art, craft, science and history of photography.” That’s a great fit for Faber Optics, so in honor of this day, here’s a little update on what I’ve been up to.
In July, I once again took a trip to the Oregon Coast with my sons, and, as usual, took some sunset photos on the beach. Here are two of my favorites.
If you saw my previous mention of the immersive video rabbit hole, you may be interested to know that I took an opportunity to capture some 12k VR video with a BlackMagic PYXIS 12k camera and a Canon RF 5.2mm f2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens. The image quality was all that I had hoped for (it’s pretty spectacular). Sadly, my poorly placed focus offered a learning opportunity that should help me get much higher quality footage to share in the coming months.
More recently, I took some product photos to announce a meaningful update to SignalScope X on the acoustics side of things.
Finally, I should mention that football season has come again, which means I’ll be busy shooting Lehi High School football from the sidelines for the coming weeks. It can feel like a part time job–one that remains a labor of love–but I sure have a fun time with it.
